The ABO has a varied programme of events, both for members and the sector as a whole.  ABO’s flagship event is the Annual Conference which is attended by a cross section of the orchestral community and examines a range of current issues away from the confines of the office.   This is supported by one-day symposia on issues of topical interest such as music and wellbeing, cultural diversity and noise which are held throughout the year.  In 2006, the ABO also presented Listen Up! Festival of British Orchestras in association with BBC Radio 3 and Making Music.

As well as major events, the ABO also provides regular opportunities for members to meet at Specialist Manager Meetings, Briefing Evenings and a variety of training opportunities, such as the Brass Tacks one day management courses.  An annual careers seminar Where Do I Start? provides an information and networking opportunity for those wanting to work within the orchestral sector.
