The NBT Orchestra is employed on a fee for serviced basis 22-26 weeks of the year by Northern Ballet Theatre performing to over 130,000 people in all four countries of the UK.

About the Member

Northern Ballet Theatre (NBT) is a touring narrative dance company whose distinctive blend of classical dance and theatre is renowned for captivating new audiences. For up to 30 weeks of the year NBT’s company of around 40 dancers tour a combination of new work and acclaimed repertory pieces to all four UK countries and overseas. Performances are narrative, theatrical and dramatic and are accessible to a diverse range of audiences who would not otherwise see the highest quality of dance.

NBT believes that live music enhances performance and is committed to the music being played live for almost all productions. The Northern Ballet Theatre orchestra is made up of 27 players who travel the length and breadth of the UK with the Company playing for over 150 performances every year.
