Date: Friday 13 November 2009

          Time: 10am - 3.30pm

Venue:  Barbican Centre, Silk Street, London  EC2Y 8DS.

Who should attend?

Many students and recent graduates have an interest in orchestral management as a possible career choice but are unsure how to get started - where do i start? aims to address this. A wide range of people have attended the course in previous years from A-level students to those who are considering a change of career.  The day will be of use and of interest to anyone who is keen to find out more about orchestras and how they are managed.

Is it really for me?

Now in its thirteenth successful year, where do I start? will introduce participants to the different areas of orchestral management including concert administration, marketing, fundraising and education.  There will be short presentations from experienced practitioners from the orchestral field who will be available to answer questions.  The day will also cover aspects of recruitment including desirable qualifications, suitable experience (and how to get it) and quality of application presentation including advice on CVs, letters of introduction and interviews.
