Tackling Alcohol and Drugs in the Workplace

In the first of a number of events focusing on Musicians’ Wellbeing, the ABO held a free two-hour seminar exclusively for members on “Tackling alcohol and drugs in the workplace”. 

Speakers included:
Peter Jackson Workplace Drugs and Alcohol Advisor, Corporation of London
Malcolm Warne Holland Orchestra and Concerts Director, Opera North
Bill Kerr Orchestral Organiser, Musicians’ Union

The session included a discussion on drug and alcohol issues, advice on writing and implementing drug and alcohol policies, assessing and advising individual employees for treatment and promoting sensible drinking. In addition, all delegates received a copy of an Employers' Toolkit produced by the London Drugs Policy Forum and London Chamber of Commerce.
