During this 3 part course we will look at health and safety and how this practically affects people working in the music and entertainment industry.             

The areas covered will be:

Policy writing:

Duties of employers and employees

Examples of good and bad policies

A brief description of safety management systems that delegates could use in their organisation effectively

Risk Assessment:

What is risk assessment?

Why do we need it?

The five steps to risk assessment

A risk assessment template

A practical session in a work environment

Manual handling:

Why is manual handling awareness important?

Who can be affected by manual handling injuries?

How can people be affected by manual handling injuries?

Examples of bad manual handling

How can we avoid injuries and carry out manual handling tasks effectively and safely?

By the end of the course, delegates will have had a practical insight in these 3 key areas. There will be an opportunity to put what you learn into practice throughout the day with group sessions, demonstrating that health and safety needn't be simply a chore, but an easy and integral part of the day to day running of your organisation. Delegates will be given electronic templates as well as help sheets after completing the relevant course area.
