The day was primarily devoted to discussing the outcome of the recent funding decisions by Arts Council England and the future role of Orchestras Live. The meeting agreed to develop a strategy statement for chamber orchestras, which will assist in helping the ABO in its advocacy role, to ensure that future funding decisions are based on clear evidence and coherent policy. We welcomed David Richardson and Jan Ford, Chief Executive and Partnership Manager respectively, from Orchestras Live, as well as Susanna Eastburn, Director, Music Strategy at Arts Council England and Henry Little, Senior Music Officer at Arts Council England and Chief Executive (designate) of Orchestras Live.
