This course aims to dispel the mystique of fundraising and show that anyone can fundraise successfully provided they follow some simple rules, enjoy communicating with people, can write well and research thoroughly, and are persistent.

By the end of this course, participants should have a working knowledge of the many different ways to raise money, know how best to apply that knowledge, know how to plan a fundraising strategy and write applications and proposals, and have a clear understanding of what NOT to do when trying to attract funds.
The course includes a 6-month email follow-up service, answering basic questions that have occurred since the course took place.
This workshop is tailored for fundraising beginners (who may not be working in a development department) and those who are simply interested in learning more about their colleagues' responsibilities.
Sarah Gee is co-founder and Managing Partner of Indigo Ltd, a marketing and fundraising consultancy working with arts and heritage organisations to help them unlock the value of their audiences and visitors. She has previously worked as a marketeer and fundraiser for the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, Academy of St Martin in the Fields and the ABO itself.
